The Koran Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words

The Koran - Essay Example The contrast can be portrayed in their styles of teaching, preaching or guiding the mankind. Both the Bible and the Koran believe in one God. This is the greatest similarity between the two of them but the contrast is in the name. Followers of Bible call him God or Lord while the followers of Koran call him, Allah. The stature of Jesus, as lord was fixed even before he was born. As mentioned in the New Testament, the country shepherds were informed about the emergence of lord by the angels in the following way: â€Å"Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, which is Christ3 the Lord.† In Koran too there is one God. In fact the Koran itself is considered the proof of one God. As mentioned in the Islamic literatureâ€Å"†¦the Koran is, literally, Gods word and is, like Him, miraculous and eternal†¦Ã¢â‚¬ Based on the works of Koran and bible it is evident that there are prophets in both the religions. In Islam the greatest prophet is Muhammad whose revelations have been compiled together in the form of the Holy book Koran. His importance as a prophet is such that every Muslim aims to read some verses of the Koran, five times a day. The contrast between the Koranic prophet Muhammad and biblical prophet, Moses as mentioned in Islam is that â€Å" The many allusions to Moses (Musa), for example, stress that God may choose even an ordinary, flawed man to be His prophet and say nothing of Moses role as the leader of his people.† (Islamic literature) This is the reason why, where Muhammad is given so much of importance Moses’s importance is recognized but not glorified as much as that of Muhammad. Both Jesus and Muhammad had qualities of the teacher. They taught and preached the lessons of love, trust and peace to their followers. They were the basis of the two widely recognized religions. Though both these teachers are treated with

For this reason, the paper will approach the conflict from the themes of rivalry, reconciliation, and reunification. To determine the present state of the conflict and the roles that regional and international countries have played in it, the paper will seek to argue that the latest bout of conflict has to do with hardline stances, suspicion, and rivalry between the two countries. Moreover, it will discuss how different political ideologies, the recent power transfer in the North, and rivalry between sponsors of both countries have elicited the conflict. All of which have stood in the way of reunification. i. Conflict: This can be defined as an organized and prolonged event that occurs between states with possible input from non-state actors and international actors. It is characterized by economic destruction, social disruption, and extreme violence. Conflicts result from a struggle for existence and man’s innate instinct for aggression. For this reason, there are various reasons that lead to conflict. These are individual differences between nation-states, cultural differences, clashes of strategic interests, and social change in the respective nation-states (Armitage 34). ii. The Start-Up of You and Readers' Responses Essay

The Start-Up of You and Readers' Responses - Essay Example A closer look at Friedman’s arguments which applied the use of humor could be seen from his second paragraph when he was trying to explain that the number of personnel currently employed by famous global organizations, such as the social networking and Internet companies, could just fit in â€Å"the 20,000 seats in Madison Square Garden, and still have room for grandma† (Friedman, 2011, par. 2). The intention of the author was for the audience to visualize the significant change in the thrust of hiring, not based on quantities of human resources; but on distinct innovative and creative skills. Likewise, another statement that injected humor was: â€Å"I think something else, something new-something that will require our kids not so much to find their next job as to invent their next job-is also influencing today's job market more than people realize† (Friedman, 2011, par. 1). In this particular statement, the author’s main argument was to relay the imminen t pressure encountered by current graduates in searching for employment, based primarily on unconventional factors that allegedly exacerbate the situation of job seekers. It stirs the emotions of readers in terms of inciting increased awareness and developing a sense of urgency to re-evaluate personal and professional skills that one currently possesses, or that one should currently possess to increase competitiveness in the contemporary global market. Still, there was a tinge of humor when Friedman indicated that â€Å"you would never know that from listening to the debate in Washington, where some Democrats still tend to talk about job creation as if it's the 1960s and some Republicans as if it's the 1980s. But this is not your parents' job market† (Friedman, 2011, par. 6). The statement has some elements of satire in the way the author stressed that policymakers apparently were too outdated to know that they should likewise be kept abreast of the changing pace of workforce opportunities. At this, the audience could either agree or react otherwise, depending on the demographic profile assumed; meaning, parents could be offended; young graduates could think this is funny; members of either the Democrats or the Republicans could obviously feel grossly transgressed. Other portions that exemplify the author’s use of emotions to sustain his arguments are as follows: in introducing the book entitled The Start-Up of You, which was reportedly authored by Reid Garrett Hoffman, LinkedIn’s founder, the assertions of Hoffman likewise stirs the emotios of the readers in terms of apparently creating a sense of uneasiness, anxiety, and unrest in specifying that the thrust of contemporary global organizations’ hiring focuses on entrepreneurial skills and talents that could not be simply earned and develop through a college degree. It was emphasized that â€Å"You can't just say, 'I have a college degree, I have a right to a job, now someone else should figure out how to hire and train me!’" (Friedman, 2011, par. 10). This particular revelation could come as a big blow to thousands of college graduates who remain optimistic of finding their dream jobs through the theoretical framework gained from their respective fields of endeavors.

The Delivery of Health Services Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2000 words

The Delivery of Health Services - Essay Example As a matter of fact, more detailed results and information on the progress of the patient's state of health and response to medication can be obtained through telecommunication between the patient and the healthcare provider based at the hospital. More interestingly is the fact that there is available telemonitoring software that can automatically relay information to the medical attendant since such software always enables the healthcare provider to remain in touch with the patient. Depending on what kind of response the health care provider obtains from the patient of from the software following monitoring of patient's progress from diagnostic devices fixed on the patient, the medical attendant can comfortably make an informed decision on the type of medication to administer. The doctor may, therefore, decide to administer the treatment during the next time that the patient reports to the hospital (Newman et al., 2012). Precisely, some of the parameters that are monitored by the telemonitoring devices previously mentioned include the heart rate, blood pressure in the case of either hypertension or hypotension, the level of glucose in the blood, weight of the patient and the status of hemoglobin among others. So long as the patient undergoing diagnosis has the diagnostic devices properly fixed on the specific anatomical locations, it is very possible to monitor changes in vital signs by the healthcare provider at the hospital while the patient comfortable settles at home.

Charles Darwin Essay Example for Free

Charles Darwin Essay Charles Darwin was a British scientist who came up with the idea of the theory of Evolution. He was also a botanist which would be one of the reasons what lead him towards inventing his Theory of Evolution. Why and How? Charles Darwin travelled to the Galapagos Island as a biologist. He travelled on a ship which was undertaking surveys of the Pacific Ocean. His voyage was to examine plants and animals on the islands through which he came up with Theory of Evolution. Charles Darwin came up with his Theory of Evolution after surveying birds on each island he went to. He saw finches but they all had different beaks, one finch had a long beak the other had a short beak and another had a dipping beak. After seeing all this Charles Darwin started thinking and so he thought why does one bird have a long beak and the other have a small beak. During his voyage on the beagle he carried on observing and found fossils and also saw consistent results for which he came up with the theory of evolution. His theory explained that all living things have a common ancestor. The finches he discovered had different beaks and so he came up with the conclusion that all of these finches had a common ancestor and then they a ll evolved from that common ancestor. Hypothesis Charles Darwin’s hypothesis was that every living thing has a common ancestor and that we all evolve from that common ancestor. His reason for us all evolving was that so we can adapt with the nature around us and survive. For example giraffes have long necks, according to Charles Darwin these giraffes had a common ancestor who had short necks from time to time a mutation resulted in a giraffe having a long neck. The reason being is so that, the giraffe could reach the trees better and get extra food and be more prone to stay alive and reproduce than all of the other giraffes. Eventually, the attribute would be passed down until generally most giraffes had long necks. Evidence and proof Jean Baptise Lamarck, who was a French naturalist, discovered his own theory before Charles Darwin discovered his Theory of Evolution. Lamarck’s theory was that organisms would pass their attribute down to their generations for example if someone was to loos their arm then their coming baby would be born without a arm and then it would get passed down the generation and then eventually you would find most people without an arm. Charles Darwin’s theory contradicted to Lamarck’s theory and so people didn’t believe in his Theory of Evolution. Also Charles Darwin lacked in evidence because he had no evidence that all the finches have a common ancestor or that all organisms have an common ancestor and so because of him not having enough evidence he lacked proof and so his theory wasn’t reliable.

Disadvantages The trend of shopping online, especially ordering pizza online has gradually been significant in the last decade and online sellers are expected to have improvements on the volume of sales after website features and services altered. There is no doubt that the customers can find great deals online and so many different products which may not be even available in regular stores. By the way, there are certain disadvantages of online ordering. Normally when we shop from a regular store, we can go directly to a sales person face-to-face to enquire and clarify our doubts regarding the food we ordering. It is possible that customers would have a wrong idea of what the products and services is about as the customers and the employee cannot deal face-to-face for a clear explanation. The chances of mishandling the package are volatile. There is a possibility that shipping abroad will damage the presentation of the food that customers ordered and the customer realize it after opening it when the package was delivered and that the person delivering it has already left as food could be very fragile. Another disadvantage is that a lot of companies which sells online state that customers have to pay for the shipping and delivery charges depending on the weight of the product the customer orders. Only a few companies with websites offer free shipping services while some companies provides free shipping services only if the customer has a total purchase of prices exceeding a certain amount. The shipment fee charged often is one of the reasons that customers would not like to order goods online as it is more expensive and does not guarantee that the goods delivered will be in good shape. However, a company must consider on the target market they would like to focus on promoting their products and services to. The elderly are most unlikely to order goods online due to their knowledge of operating a computer. Therefore, if the target market includes the elderly, a traditional service has to be provided to them. Online connectivity issues are the greatest disadvantage for online ordering. The customers add items in online shopping cart, enter information and press submit. The confirmation screen might time out when the internet has an unstable connection. The online customers would not know whether the order has been made or not while reloading the page may cause several billing or several orders. Moreover, customers may also make human errors, such as ordering the incorrect item. This can occur when the customer attempts to place an order. The customer may have accidentally clicked on the wrong item while placing their orders through the website. Even if the consumer clicks on the correct product and provides an accurate product number there may still be mistake made in the ordering process if there are options associated with the item. This problem can be rather disturbing because the consumer will get agitated when the incorrect item is received and therefore, loses customers loyalty towards the company. Another disadvantage is that purchasing online would mean that personal information has to be given to the company when purchasing is taken place. Some companies take advantage of this feature. By purchasing on the Internet, the customer would have to take the risk of having their information taken by online companies and misused. Though this is a very rare occurrence, it is more likely to happen online, than in person. To avoid personal information from being exposed, customers would usually look for a trustable company to purchase goods from. More often, what people dislike about online purchasing is that delivery services are only restricted to certain areas. As a result, people living in rural areas are at a disadvantage whereby they will need to go to the destination whereby the company is able to deliver.
